Linton Weirich, 36, a prisoner accused of having sex with a female prison guard, is reportedly in a relationship with a pregnant girlfriend and is serving a sentence for a failed robbery.
Weirich, who was filmed in a video allegedly showing him engaging in sexual activity with guard Linda De Sousa Abreu, is currently serving a four and a half year sentence at HMP Wandsworth for stealing £65,000 worth of goods from a house in Kensington. The West Londoner’s loot included jewelry, handbags, and a laptop, all stolen in March 2022. He was sentenced on June 7 at Kingston Crown Court.
Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, from Fulham, south-west London, faces charges of misconduct in a public office after the video surfaced on social media. The court heard that she is accused of “willfully and without reasonable excuse or justification misconducting herself in a way that amounted to an abuse of the public’s trust in the office holder by engaging in a sexual act with a prisoner in a prison cell.”
Weirich’s partner, said to be seven months pregnant, was reportedly hospitalized due to stress after the video emerged over the weekend. A source stated, “This is the last thing she needs in her condition; it’s extremely upsetting. This stupid video has affected her health, and she was hospitalized over the weekend due to stress. She fears it will bring on premature labor.”
The incident allegedly occurred at HMP Wandsworth between June 26 and 28. The video depicts De Sousa Abreu performing a sex act at the Category A jail in south-west London. The two then engage in sex while another inmate records the scene on a mobile phone. The friend, seen smoking while recording, can be heard saying, “Guys, we’ve made history; this is what I’m telling you.” Later, he adds, “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”
De Sousa Abreu was arrested at Heathrow Airport while preparing to board a flight to Madrid, having informed the prison of her travel plans. She, who holds a Portuguese passport, was granted conditional bail after appearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, where she only confirmed her name, address, and date of birth. She is scheduled to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on July 29.
A spokesperson for the Prison Service stated, “Staff corruption is not tolerated, and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to the police. It would be inappropriate to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.”
