Police on Friday, June 28, 2024, arrested a female warden following the emergence of a sex video showing her fucking an inmate in a cell at HMP Wandsworth prison in London, UK.
The suspect, identified as Linda De Sousa Abreu, is being held on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The scandal unfolded after a video surfaced showing De Sousa Abreu, a former prison officer and known swinger, fucking an unidentified inmate.
The video, which has caused a significant uproar, depicts De Sousa Abreu wearing her prison uniform while performing a sex act on the prisoner.
The explicit footage, recorded on a mobile phone by the inmate’s cellmate, shows the intimate encounter in a Category A jail cell in south-west London.
The video captures the cellmate smoking and commenting on the incident, declaring, “Guys, we’ve made history, this is what I’m telling you.”
Throughout the video, the prison officer’s radio crackles with the voices of her colleagues, oblivious to the activities occurring within the cell.
At one point, someone attempts to enter the cell, prompting the person filming to ask for a moment’s pause.
The cellmate continues recording and, with a grin, pans the camera around, stating, “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”
He further comments to his friend involved in the act, “You know you’re gangster, innit!”
Following the incident, De Sousa Abreu reportedly resigned from her position at the South London prison.
The footage, which includes scenes of the prison cell’s interior with a TV and clothes piled on a bunk bed, has sparked widespread outrage and raised serious concerns about security and conduct within the prison system.
